Electrical Lead — Role Overview
This position places you at the centre of electrical delivery for a significant data centre build, reporting directly to the Project Director. You will own the full electrical installation lifecycle — from design coordination through to final commissioning — while leading a multi-disciplinary team in a live construction environment.
Electrical Lead — Responsibilities
• Design, organise, lead, coordinate and control all aspects of electrical project delivery, ensuring quality, safety and performance standards are consistently met
• Coordinate electrical design activities with internal teams, subcontractors and BIM specialists
• Supervise and monitor ongoing works, enforcing schedule adherence and quality standards
• Oversee full electrical installation across the project, managing labour tracking and resource allocation
• Engage directly with clients and project stakeholders to ensure clear communication and goal alignment
• Lead and mentor project teams including supervisors and foremen, driving productivity through effective daily and weekly work planning
• Chair weekly project meetings with foremen, Safety Advisor, QA Engineer and BIM teams — recording actions, assigning ownership and ensuring closure
• Coordinate activities with other subcontractors in shared work areas to ensure safe, efficient progress
• Review and sign off project documentation and weekly foremen reports, tracking issues through to resolution
• Prepare comprehensive weekly reports covering: incident/accident reports, schedule updates (Planned vs Actual), 4–6 week labour lookahead, industrial relations, 2–4 week material procurement forecast including long-lead items, variation logs, and delay/risk notifications
Electrical Lead — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
• Minimum 10 years' experience managing large-scale electrical projects (commercial offices, retail, hotels, schools or data centres)
• Recent experience managing major electrical contracts
• Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets and teams in dynamic project environments
• Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills
• Engineering qualification preferred
Desirable:
• Data centre project experience
• BIM coordination experience
