Electrical Lead — Role Overview

As Electrical Lead, you will be responsible for the management of electrical systems packages on site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will lead a team of engineers and supervisors, coordinating with other disciplines to maintain project schedules and quality standards.

Electrical Lead — Responsibilities

As Electrical Lead, you will:

  • Manage the Electrical Systems package.
  • Lead a team of engineers and supervisors, coordinating with other disciplines to prevent project delays.
  • Manage Site Safety in conjunction with the Project Manager and Safety Advisor, including setting up, managing, and closing out the safety file.
  • Drive a focused Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental culture within your team.
  • Manage Site QA in conjunction with the QA Manager, including file setup, management, and closeout.
  • Manage the Project Schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager, consulting Engineer, and Client requirements.
  • Manage all costs associated with your package, including the electrical team, subcontractors, material deliveries, plant and equipment, variations, and valuations.
  • Manage all day-to-day site operations.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are closely followed.
  • Manage subcontractor activities, tracking progress against the schedule and staffing levels.
  • Manage the snagging system, ensuring supervisors return weekly punch lists and distribute snags to subcontractors.
  • Issue direct labor hours and subcontractor hours to the time administrator.
  • Attend Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Coordination Meetings, and Handover Meetings.
  • Close out all project items, including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant relocations, and the Project Plan.
  • Issue weekly cost reports, including all orders placed, materials expected, and labor levels.
  • Issue internal weekly progress reports, highlighting progress percentage complete based on WBS codes and any concerns.
  • Ensure all KPIs, both internal and external, are achieved.
  • Issue external weekly progress reports, highlighting areas not available, delays, shortage of design, third-party hold-ups, and percentage complete.
  • Schedule material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule and track all deliveries.
  • Maintain a weekly project photographic diary.
  • Perform all other duties associated with the role.

Electrical Lead — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A trade and/or relevant third-level qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of previous experience in Project Management.
  • Proven record of coordinating and managing large installation projects.
  • Experience dealing with Industrial Relations issues.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety.
  • Experience in design and build.
  • Good technical knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within strict deadlines.
  • Ability to drive a large-scale project.
