Electrical Lead — Role Overview
As Electrical Lead, you will manage the electrical systems package on a major project. Your expertise will ensure the successful installation and operation of electrical systems, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
Electrical Lead — Responsibilities
As Electrical Lead, you will:
- Manage the Electrical Systems package.
- Manage Site Safety in conjunction with the Project Manager and the Safety Advisor, including setup, management, and closeout of the safety file.
- Manage the electrical design process in conjunction with the Design Manager.
- Manage the OFCI electrical equipment and packages.
- Drive a focused Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental culture within your team.
- Manage Site QA in conjunction with the QA Manager including setup, management, and closeout of file.
- Manage Project Schedule in conjunction with the Project manager, consulting Engineer and Client requirements.
- Manage all costs associated with your package, including the Electrical Team, Sub-contractors, Material deliveries, Plant and Equipment, Variations, and Valuations.
- Manage all day-to-day site operations.
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed closely.
- Ensure Works are installed in accordance with Project specifications and to the Project QA plan.
- Manage sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and staffing levels.
- Manage the "In Progress" snagging system, ensuring supervisors return weekly punch lists.
- Issue direct labour hours and sub-contractor hours to time administrator.
- Attend Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings.
- Close out of all project items including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant re-locations, and Project Plan.
- Issue weekly cost reports, including orders placed, materials expected, and labour levels.
- Issue internal and external weekly progress reports, highlighting progress, concerns, and risk elements.
- Schedule and track material deliveries.
- Support and coach the electrical team to ensure their development.
- Prepare Sub-contract and Supplier Tender Packages in conjunction with Project QS.
- Maintain a weekly project photographic diary.
Electrical Lead — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- A trade and/or relevant third level qualification
- Minimum 5 years previous experience in Project Management
- Proven record of coordinating and managing large installation projects
- Experience dealing with Industrial Relations issues
- Knowledge of Health & Safety
- Experienced in design and build
- Good technical knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems
- Excellent IT skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well within strict deadlines
- Ability to drive a large-scale project
