Electrical Engineer — Role Overview
This is a hands-on technical leadership position overseeing electrical installation and design coordination for a large-scale electrical system. You will bridge engineering design with field execution, ensuring quality, safety, and programme compliance across sub-contractor workforces.
Electrical Engineer — Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate electrical sub-contractor teams through design, development and installation phases of large-scale electrical systems
• Manage, review and coordinate technical drawings to maintain programme alignment
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting support to sub-contracted engineering staff
• Prioritise and allocate work across technical teams to optimise resource deployment
• Ensure strict compliance with site safety, operational requirements and health & safety obligations
• Apply systematic troubleshooting techniques to identify electrical faults and implement corrective actions
• Maintain rigorous document control, keeping all project logs current and auditable
• Create comprehensive handover packs and system test packs for client acceptance
• Champion safety culture through 'don't walk by' observations, housekeeping standards and continuous improvement of working methods
Electrical Engineer — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
• Relevant Electrical Qualification: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 5+ years' experience in a similar role within a mechanical and electrical contracting environment
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
• Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
Preferred:
• HNC/HND qualifications
• Data centre project experience
