Electrical Engineer — Role Overview

This position places you at the centre of electrical system delivery, bridging design coordination, site execution, and sub-contractor management. You will ensure technical compliance, drive safety standards, and maintain rigorous documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Electrical Engineer — Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical sub-contractor teams through design, development and installation phases of large-scale electrical systems
• Manage, review and coordinate technical drawings to maintain programme alignment
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and oversight to sub-contracted staff on all project aspects
• Prioritise and allocate work across the technical team to optimise delivery
• Enforce sub-contractor compliance with site requirements, operational standards and health & safety obligations
• Apply systematic troubleshooting techniques to identify electrical problems and implement corrective actions
• Maintain rigorous document control, ensuring all logs and records remain current
• Create comprehensive handover packs and test packs for completed systems
• Drive site safety culture through proactive hazard identification, 'don't walk by' reporting, and continuous improvement of working practices
• Maintain exemplary housekeeping standards across all contractor activities

Electrical Engineer — Ideal Candidate

Essential
• Relevant Electrical Qualification (Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role within a mechanical and electrical contracting environment
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
• Strong organisational, communication and time management capabilities

Preferred
• HNC/HND qualifications
• Data centre sector experience
