Electrical Design Engineer — Role Overview
As a senior member of the project team, the Electrical Design Engineer will manage design packages from initial review through to handover for execution on site. You will provide technical engineering knowledge and manage project team deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Electrical Design Engineer — Responsibilities
As Electrical Design Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with engineers and construction managers to develop project plans.
- Liaise with clients and third parties as required.
- Develop scope-of-works, task information deliverables lists and responsibility matrices for electrical disciplines.
- Raise design-related risks to planning, commercial and management teams.
- Maintain accurate records of key design activities.
- Attend design meetings and provide input for optimisation.
- Oversee the construction process to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Conduct site visits and report progress and quality of work.
- Ensure electrical technical compliance on all projects.
- Review design proposals for suitability and constructability.
- Prepare handover packs for the site team.
- Manage and coordinate electrical disciplines and interfaces with CSA and Mechanical teams.
- Check plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams.
Electrical Design Engineer — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in the Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or Data Centre sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of Statutory Consent Processes and Building Regulations.
- Demonstrable design, technical and construction knowledge.
- Experience leading meetings and coordinating team members.
- Strong working knowledge of structural design and analysis software such as BIM and Revit.
