Electrical Construction Manager — Role Overview
This pivotal site-based role places you at the heart of electrical construction delivery, ensuring quality, safety, and programme compliance across complex mission-critical infrastructure. You will direct subcontractor performance, manage change control, and drive continuous improvement in a high-stakes environment.
Electrical Construction Manager — Responsibilities
• Direct site Quality Assurance activities, coordinating with the QA Manager to ensure all electrical works meet specification and industry standards
• Develop and maintain two-week look-ahead programmes, overseeing project schedules alongside the Project Team
• Plan and manage labour resources to meet evolving project demands
• Supervise subcontractor performance, tracking progress against schedules and manpower trackers
• Identify, document, and report all variations and delays to Project Management
• Verify plant and materials deliveries against specifications, ensuring safe onsite storage
• Drive project close-out including O&M manuals, punch lists, safety files, QA files, and material handovers
• Enforce Health & Safety requirements and promote safe working practices across all electrical activities
• Champion continuous safety improvements and maintain exemplary housekeeping standards
• Complete weekly safety observations and "Don't Walk By" reporting
• Collaborate with Package Managers to implement and refine company procedures
• Manage change control processes, capturing and addressing cost and programme impacts
Electrical Construction Manager — Ideal Candidate
Essential
• Relevant Electrical Qualification: City & Guilds Certificate, HNC/BTEC, or NVQ
• 5+ years' experience in Electrical Construction Manager or similar role on large-scale projects
• Proven track record in data centres, industrial, pharmaceutical, or mission-critical facilities
• Strong technical knowledge of LV/MV electrical systems, QA processes, and safety compliance
• Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors, direct labour, schedules, and costs
• Experience handling change control, variations, and formal project reporting
• Proficiency in MS Project or equivalent scheduling tools
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities
• Genuine commitment to Health & Safety and driving positive safety culture
