Electrical Commissioning Engineer — Role Overview

This is a hands-on commissioning leadership position overseeing all electrical vendor activities through to final sign-off. You will drive the commissioning programme from factory acceptance testing through site operations, ensuring compliance with rigorous data centre standards.

Electrical Commissioning Engineer — Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Supervising all electrical vendor commissioning activities and ensuring scope compliance
• Monitoring programme milestones and communicating deadlines to internal teams and vendors
• Attending and supervising Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Factory Witness Tests (FWTs)
• Organising and contributing to daily/weekly commissioning meetings with vendors and project teams
• Producing weekly vendor progress reports for commissioning management
• Coordinating with QAQC and AP departments to align project objectives
• Tracking, reviewing and obtaining approval on commissioning documentation including test scripts and compliance statements
• Witnessing vendor commissioning activities against approved project specifications
• Managing the commissioning tagging process and day-to-day on-site operations
• Ensuring all electrical systems achieve necessary commissioning level sign-off

Electrical Commissioning Engineer — Ideal Candidate

Essential:
• Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or electrical trade (NVQ or equivalent)
• Minimum 3+ years' commissioning experience in construction, preferably on commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical or data centre projects
• Proven experience with LV/MV systems commissioning
• Minimum 3 years' electrical testing and verification experience
• Strong construction safety awareness and site experience
• Analytical problem-solving with decisive action

Desirable:
• HV systems experience
• Process-driven approach with knowledge of EHS and Quality Work Management Systems
