EHS Manager — Role Overview

This critical role ensures adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards on a major construction project. You will contribute to a safe and compliant work environment, supporting both company employees and subcontractors.

EHS Manager — Responsibilities

As EHS Manager, you will:

  • Ensure adherence to project and company safety management systems.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant environmental, health, and safety legislation.
  • Assist with onboarding of employees and subcontractors, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Coordinate the development of task-specific method statements, risk assessments, and safe plans of action.
  • Coordinate project safety indicators and maintain good safety practices.
  • Conduct ongoing COSHH assessments and control hazardous substances.
  • Carry out regular site audits and inspections, documenting results and corrective actions.
  • Provide safety input to site management and at site EHS forums.
  • Assist with accident investigation reports and ensure timely communication.

EHS Manager — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess:

Essential:

  • Relevant qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety
  • 7+ years’ experience of managing environmental, health and safety on large construction sites.
  • 5+ years managing a team of EHS advisors
  • Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation
  • Ability to efficiently manage all environmental, health and safety issues on site.
  • Strong communication & computer skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Close attention to detail
  • Good team-working skills

Desirable:

  • Experience working on Data Centres
