EHS Lead — Role Overview
As EHS Lead, you will ensure adherence to safety management systems and statutory provisions on complex engineering and construction projects. Your role is critical in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, coordinating safety practices, and providing essential input to site management.
EHS Lead — Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Adhering to project and Leading Engineering Firm Safety Management systems.
- Ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions & legislation.
- Coordinating the development of task-specific method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action, and permit to work.
- Managing project safety indicators and ensuring good safety practices are maintained.
- Conducting ongoing C.O.S.H.H assessments and controlling hazardous substances.
- Carrying out regular site audits and inspections, documenting results, and following up on corrective actions.
- Ensuring project sub-contractors adhere to project and group EHS policies & procedures.
- Assisting with accident investigation reports and ensuring timely communication to project management.
- Liaising with site Project Management on environmental, health & safety issues.
EHS Lead — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety
- 7+ years’ experience managing environmental, health, and safety on large construction sites.
- Experience working on Data Centres
- 5+ years managing a team of EHS advisors
- Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation
- Strong communication & computer skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Close attention to detail
- Good team-working skills
