EHS Lead — Role Overview

As EHS Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to safety regulations and promoting a proactive safety culture on site. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining a safe and compliant working environment for all project personnel.

EHS Lead — Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Adhering to project and the company's Safety Management System.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions and legislation.
  • Assisting with the onboarding of employees and subcontractors, ensuring all relevant documentation is in place.
  • Coordinating the development of task-specific Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Safe Plan of Action, and Permit to Work systems.
  • Coordinating project safety indicators and ensuring good safety practices are maintained.
  • Conducting ongoing C.O.S.H.H assessments and managing control of hazardous substances.
  • Carrying out regular site audits and inspections, documenting results, and following up on corrective actions.
  • Providing safety input to site management and at site EHS forums.
  • Assisting with accident investigation reports and ensuring timely communication to project management.

EHS Lead — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Relevant qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety.
  • 7+ years’ experience managing environmental, health, and safety on large construction sites.
  • 5+ years managing a team of EHS advisors
  • Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health, and safety legislation.
  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Close attention to detail and good team-working skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on Data Centres.
