EHS Advisor — Role Overview

This site-based position supports the Project Management team and Site Health & Safety Lead in delivering robust EHS compliance across all construction activities. You will be the on-the-ground authority ensuring statutory adherence, contractor coordination, and proactive safety culture on a significant data centre build.

EHS Advisor — Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Management team and Site Health & Safety Lead in all EHS matters
  • Ensure strict adherence to the project Safety Management System and Leading Data Centre Contractor PSCS EHS Plans
  • Maintain compliance with relevant Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions and legislation
  • Review Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Safe Plans of Action, and Permits to Work
  • Carry out regular site audits and inspections, document results, and drive corrective actions
  • Maintain records of statutory inspections for project activities, tools, and plant
  • Conduct ongoing COSHH assessments and control of hazardous substances
  • Ensure safety interventions are completed, registered, and tracked
  • Coordinate and manage Leading Data Centre Contractor induction and training programmes
  • Compile and deliver Toolbox Talks as required
  • Assist or lead accident investigations and ensure timely reporting to project management
  • Oversee welfare and hygiene facilities, ensuring they remain compliant and operational
  • Drive waste reduction and recycling programmes in line with project policies
  • Attend daily activity briefings and whiteboard meetings
  • Ensure all project sub-contractors adhere to project and group EHS policies and procedures

EHS Advisor — Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Relevant third-level degree qualification in Health & Safety
  • 3+ years' experience on large construction sites
  • Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation
  • Strong communication and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Flexibility in working patterns where necessary
  • Prior experience with PSCS frameworks or Tier-1 contractor environments
  • Data centre or mission-critical facility construction exposure
