EHS Advisor — Role Overview

As an EHS Advisor, you will be crucial in ensuring adherence to safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment on site. You'll contribute to the overall success of projects by minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with EHS standards.

EHS Advisor — Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Adhering to project and the company's Safety Management System.
  • Ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions & legislation.
  • Following the company's & PSCS Environmental, Health & Safety Plans.
  • Coordinating the development of task-specific Method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action, and permit to work.
  • Ensuring compliance with the project execution plan.
  • Coordinating project safety indicators.
  • Managing and maintaining good safety practices.
  • Conducting ongoing C.O.S.H.H assessments and controlling hazardous substances.
  • Ensuring completion and registration of safety interventions.
  • Carrying out regular site audits and inspections, documenting results, and following up on corrective actions.
  • Maintaining records of statutory inspections for project activities, tools, and plant.
  • Providing safety input to site management and at site EHS forums.
  • Ensuring project sub-contractors adhere to project and group EHS policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating, managing, and maintaining the company's induction and training.
  • Ensuring project PPE is resourced and available.
  • Compiling and delivering Toolbox talks as necessary.
  • Assisting with or carrying out accident investigation reports in a timely manner and ensuring communication to project management.
  • Ensuring welfare and hygiene facilities are in place, managed, and maintained.
  • Liaising with site Project Management on environmental, health & safety issues.
  • Ensuring up-to-date documentation is included in the Safety File.
  • Maintaining waste reduction and recycling programs in line with project policies and procedures.

EHS Advisor — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety
  • 3-5 years’ experience of managing environmental, health and safety on large construction sites
  • Experience working in Pharma Industry / Data Centers & Retail
  • Experience in the Fire Protection Industry (preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation
  • Flexibility in working patterns where necessary
  • Ability to efficiently manage all environmental, health and safety issues on site
  • Strong communication & computer skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • Good team-working skills
