EHS Advisor — Role Overview

As an EHS Advisor, you will be crucial in supporting the Project Manager and ensuring project activities adhere to safety standards, regulations, and client expectations. You will implement and maintain EHS systems throughout the project.

EHS Advisor — Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and maintaining EHS management systems across all project phases.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety management systems and relevant EHS legislation.
  • Coordinating the development of method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action, and permits to work.
  • Monitoring and reporting on project safety indicators and ensuring good safety practices are upheld.
  • Conducting ongoing COSHH assessments and managing hazardous substances.
  • Performing regular site audits and inspections, documenting findings and driving corrective actions.
  • Providing EHS input at site meetings and forums, identifying risks and recommending improvements.
  • Advising management, safety representatives, and employees on EHS matters.
  • Maintaining records of statutory inspections for tools, plant, and project activities.
  • Coordinating site inductions, training, and ensuring PPE availability.
  • Leading toolbox talks and assisting in accident investigations and reporting.
  • Ensuring welfare and hygiene facilities are properly managed.
  • Supporting waste reduction and recycling initiatives in line with project policies.

EHS Advisor — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A third-level qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ site-based EHS experience.
  • Strong knowledge of current EHS legislation and best practices.
  • The ability to manage EHS issues independently and proactively.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • A flexible and adaptable working style.
