Document Controller — Role Overview
This Document Controller position sits at the heart of project delivery, ensuring seamless information flow across a complex, fast-paced construction environment. You will maintain the integrity of all project documentation, directly supporting programme delivery and compliance for a flagship data centre development.
Document Controller — Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
• Managing the full document lifecycle—distribution, tracking and version control—ensuring all stakeholders access current drawings, schedules, specifications, contracts, submittals, RFIs and reports
• Maintaining accurate project registers including document register, RFI register, action log and issue log
• Analysing data from multiple project logs to identify outstanding actions and overdue items, flagging risks to programme
• Generating regular status reports and overdue reports to support project tracking and decision-making
• Liaising directly with external consultants and contractors to enforce project documentation standards
• Supporting QA, QC and HSE initiatives through audit assistance and document-related compliance activities
• Ensuring all documentation adheres to company standards and the Integrated Management System (IMS)
Document Controller — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a site-based document control role on construction projects
• High-level verbal and written English
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
• Advanced IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite
Desirable:
• Experience with knowledge sharing applications
• Previous data centre or mission-critical project exposure
• Familiarity with Common Data Environments (CDE) or document control platforms (Aconex, SharePoint, Procore, etc.)
