Design Engineer — Role Overview

This is a hands-on design coordination role supporting the full project lifecycle from concept through commissioning. You'll work at the intersection of design, BIM, and construction delivery on a complex, high-profile facility.

Design Engineer — Responsibilities

• Support the Design Manager in developing and coordinating project designs from concept through construction and commissioning
• Produce, review, and coordinate design drawings, calculations, and specifications to project standards
• Liaise with internal design teams, BIM teams, and external consultants to ensure coordinated, clash-free designs
• Manage the Technical Submittal (TS) process, ensuring alignment with specifications and programme
• Respond to design queries and RFIs with accuracy and speed
• Participate in design coordination meetings, workshops, and internal reviews
• Drive change management by identifying design changes and assessing cost, programme, and constructability impacts
• Ensure all deliverables meet quality, health & safety, and environmental requirements
• Prepare as-built drawings, O&M documentation, and final handover packages

Design Engineer — Ideal Candidate

Essential:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or related discipline
• 2–5 years' experience in design engineering within construction, engineering consultancy, or contracting
• Strong understanding of design coordination and construction methodologies
• Solid organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused approach

Desirable:
• Experience on large-scale data centre, industrial, pharmaceutical, or commercial projects
• Working knowledge of BIM and digital construction tools
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software
