CSA Estimator — Role Overview
This is a pivotal role within the estimating function, reporting directly to the Estimating Director. You will manage end-to-end tender processes for major civil, structural and architectural packages, building relationships with subcontractors across Ireland and Europe while contributing to the company's continued growth in the data centre sector.
CSA Estimator — Responsibilities
• Complete and manage large tenders across long-duration timeframes for data centre projects
• Prepare detailed estimates based on drawings, specifications and quantities
• Source and negotiate pricing from Irish and European subcontractors and suppliers
• Analyse subcontractor bids using spreadsheets to demonstrate selection rationale
• Maintain and develop the cost database to support accurate forecasting
• Present estimates to the Estimating Director and Board of Directors as required
• Build and maintain relationships with key vendors, subcontractors, engineers and suppliers
• Identify potential project risks and contribute to quality control procedures
• Stay informed of construction industry developments and best practices
• Collaborate on quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
CSA Estimator — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
• Minimum 4 years' relevant estimating experience
• Background in Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) engineering OR proven previous trade experience
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Knowledge of FIDIC contracts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, OR QS/BQ production software (Buildsoft or CostX)
Desirable:
• Experience in data centre, pharmaceutical or mission-critical environments
• Existing network of Irish and European subcontractor contacts
