CSA Engineer — Role Overview
This CSA Engineer position is central to ensuring quality control and subcontractor coordination across a major data centre build. You will own the interface between site operations, design teams, and contractors—driving standards from first fix through to zero-defect handover.
CSA Engineer — Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
• Checking and controlling works to maintain quality standards throughout construction
• Coordinating with QA managers to ensure contractor documentation is submitted accurately and on time
• Tracking subcontractor progress against programme and chairing progress meetings
• Managing site documentation including RFIs, technical submittals, trackers, and weekly/monthly reports
• Attending and contributing to site meetings, project reviews, engineering reviews, planning sessions, and handover meetings
• Reviewing drawings with the design team and resolving technical issues promptly
• Monitoring and snagging contractor works against approved drawings and specifications, raising defects on approved platforms and driving timely close-out
• Managing subcontractor activities including manpower tracking, finished works protection, and damage prevention
• Coordinating trades to ensure adequate time, materials, and resources for programme compliance
• Overseeing health and safety, housekeeping, and material storage; issuing daily SPAs and permits
• Ensuring works comply with approved MSRA/RAMS and participating in daily DAB and whiteboard briefings
CSA Engineer — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years' experience on large-scale construction projects
• Previous data centre project experience
• Ability to work independently with strong initiative
Desirable:
• Familiarity with quality management systems and snag-list platforms
• Experience managing subcontractor relationships and progress tracking
