Commissioning Manager — Role Overview
This Commissioning Manager role is critical to the successful delivery of a large-scale data centre project. You will be responsible for overseeing all commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and managing both internal and external stakeholders.
Commissioning Manager — Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Setting up, managing, and closing out the Commissioning plan for the project.
- Managing direct reports (commissioning and testing personnel).
- Managing the Commissioning Tagging process and procedures.
- Reporting progress on all Commissioning activities.
- Chairing weekly commissioning meetings and directing weekly activities.
- Hosting client commissioning meetings and reporting progress.
- Monitoring and updating daily analysis reports and monthly schedules.
- Managing project scope, construction progress, resources, critical path, and milestone activities.
- Producing weekly look-ahead schedules.
- Ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Producing Testing & Commissioning documents.
- Managing the project's "Lock Out – Tag Out" processes and Area Control Permits.
- Compiling all Testing and Commissioning Documentation.
- Managing sub-contractor activities and attending Factory Witness Testing (FWT) as required.
Commissioning Manager — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Ability to travel freely across the EU.
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- 5+ years' experience in a Commissioning Manager role on large-scale industrial projects.
- Extensive commissioning knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems associated with Data Centres.
- Thorough understanding of building regulations and European standards, codes, and practices.
- Experience managing and executing a full Integrated System Test (IST).
- Experience developing IST documentation and managing its completion on a digital platform.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Adobe Acrobat.
