Commissioning Manager — Role Overview

You will lead the commissioning function across CFCI and OFCI work packages, acting as the primary technical and commercial interface between the project team, vendors, and client stakeholders. This position is central to achieving successful system handover and final project completion.

Commissioning Manager — Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and supervise Commissioning Engineers across the project delivery
  • Define commissioning work scopes and manage delivery against agreed strategy and programme
  • Monitor progress against milestones and deadlines, proactively identifying and addressing risks
  • Communicate schedules, milestones, and priorities to internal teams, vendors, and client stakeholders
  • Act as key interface with client stakeholders for all commissioning activities
  • Facilitate and participate in detailed design reviews for CFCI and OFCI work packages
  • Document and formally raise design, system, and process queries with designers and client teams
  • Manage the overall M&E Commissioning Programme including milestone tracking, sequencing, and reporting
  • Ensure full compliance with contract documents, specifications, commissioning procedures, and project standards
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate Vendor FATs and FWTs including attendance where required
  • Manage commissioning scope for both CFCI and OFCI vendors
  • Attend and contribute to daily and weekly commissioning meetings (internal, vendor, and client-facing)
  • Prepare, update, and submit commissioning progress and technical reports
  • Coordinate with Project QA/QC Department to ensure quality objectives are achieved
  • Manage preparation, submission, review, and approval of commissioning documentation including test scripts, compliance statements, and sign-off records

Commissioning Manager — Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, OR minimum 5 years' experience in Commissioning leadership role within data centre or mission-critical projects
  • Mechanical or Electrical bias acceptable with strong working knowledge of both disciplines
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships in multi-contractor site environment
  • Strong understanding of EHS requirements associated with Mechanical and Electrical commissioning activities
