Commercial Lead — Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lead to join the site team on a large data centre project. The successful candidate will oversee all commercial and quantity surveying functions, ensuring project profitability and compliance.
Commercial Lead — Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the project Commercial Team and supporting the construction team on all commercial and quantity surveying functions.
- Ensuring compliance with contract obligations and providing advice to the construction team.
- Identifying potential commercial risks and ensuring prompt reporting to management.
- Compiling monthly progress applications, including accurate remeasure, site variations, dayworks, and claims.
- Managing subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations, and final account.
- Managing and forecasting project turnover and cash flow.
- Reviewing and commercially managing all projects to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
- Identifying, analysing, and reporting on trends within the business and projects.
- Reviewing incoming correspondence to identify contractually critical items and initiating responses.
Commercial Lead — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
- Relevant third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent level of education (e.g., engineering) combined with commercial experience.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience post-qualification with General Contractor experience.
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
- Excellent IT Skills (SAP experience is an advantage).
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
- Must have excellent English language skills.
Desirable:
- Data centre experience.
- CSA and MEP experience.
