Buyer — Role Overview

This Buyer role is critical to ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services for construction projects. You will be responsible for managing the procurement process from sourcing to invoice clearance, working closely with site commercial and construction teams.

Buyer — Responsibilities

As a Buyer, you will:

  • Manage the procurement to pay process from sourcing to invoice clearance.
  • Conduct complex bid processes for equipment, materials, and services, including commercial evaluations.
  • Create Procurement Schedules in collaboration with project teams and the planning function.
  • Develop and execute Procurement Project Execution Plans.
  • Develop procurement strategies for core commodities.
  • Work full-time on-site, collaborating with site commercial and construction teams.
  • Secure the quality and timely delivery of goods and services required for assigned projects.
  • Ensure materials and services are procured on time and within budget.
  • Assist in the reallocation or disposal of excess materials.
  • Create internal reports.

Buyer — Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Construction buying experience
  • Experience in a similar role within an engineering or construction company
  • Third-level qualification, preferably in supply chain or a related discipline
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a similar role
  • Ability to prioritize workload efficiently
  • Previous ERP experience
  • Finnish language proficiency

Desirable:

  • Third-level qualification in supply chain, engineering, or a related discipline
  • Technical knowledge of the construction industry
  • Results-driven with project management skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism, flexibility, and resilience
