BIM Lead — Role Overview

This BIM Lead role is crucial for ensuring the successful delivery of projects using Building Information Modeling. You will provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to the BIM team, ensuring workflows are efficient and project deliverables are met on time.

BIM Lead — Responsibilities

As a BIM Lead, you will:

  • Provide project leadership and direction to the BIM team.
  • Manage BIM personnel, delegating workloads as required.
  • Mentor and guide the BIM project team.
  • Ensure BIM workflows are in place and understood by the team.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure timely sign-off of drawings.
  • Ensure project deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Provide weekly project reports, highlighting status, issues, and plans.
  • Interface with clients and attend project meetings.
  • Drive BIM team strategy, tactics, and plans.
  • Produce 3D construction models from base information (Base Design, PID’s, Scan & point cloud data).
  • Provide construction detailing to enable automatic production of isometrics and BOM.
  • Manage clash detection and resolution.
  • Design and detail services support systems.
  • Develop models and reports in line with scheduling requirements.
  • Produce GA’s and detailing sheets.
  • Liaise with site staff in interpreting and amending models.
  • Develop 3D coordinated services and structure layouts for clash control.
  • Develop mechanical & electrical systems and designs coordinated building services layouts.
  • Write technical reports.
  • Produce builders works schedules and associated drawings.
  • Complete material procurement schedules.
  • Attend design, client & site meetings as required.
  • Coordinate installation of mechanical services with other trades.
  • Ensure QA/QC compliance.

BIM Lead — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a BIM Lead
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
